Meet Reggie

For the last two years, our family has wanted to add a new member to our family. We already have two 10 year old cats, two 4 year old fish and now we have a 10 week old English Springer Spaniel puppy. This is Reggie.

We've had him home for a few weeks now and we are all adjusting. He's a sweetie for sure. I hope to post more pictures and stories in the coming weeks. I will share his coming home story though. His first meeting with the cats didn't go at all like I had imagined. He was so afraid of the cats he just cowered and whimpered (this is no longer the case). And I expected the cats to run and hide. They are very shy of people after all. But, to our surprise, the shyest of our cats was the most curious and came right up to check Reggie out (to Reggie's horror). It was a comical sight.

Until next time.

New Widget

Today I learned how to add a Pinterest widget to my blog. See. It's over there on the right. I even pinned the article on how to do it. And in case you would like to add your Pinterest profile to your Blogger blog also, here is where I found it.

Pinterest Board Widget

That's all for now.

Have a wonderful day.

Mother Kit Update

It's a beautiful day and I should be outside, but instead I decided to add an update here. I am now able to include links for my Mother Kit on my blog. I left the links in the Scraps N Pieces gallery also and you can still find the links to many of the other participant kits there as well. See the next post for the links.

But before I go, I want to leave you with this picture I took of my boys while out bike riding. The snappers are out and about laying their eggs. We came across this one on the bike path. She was rather tuckered out and recovering her strength. I could see the freshly dug nest nearby.

Attempt At Design

It's been a while since I posted anything here. I keep thinking I'll be a blogger someday. But, for now it will be just random stuff, like this...

I decided to take a Designer Mentoring Class at Scraps n Pieces. I'm happy how it turned out even though some of my designs didn't pass the quality control step. One of my favorite pieces was a flower scatter that I couldn't include in the final product.

You can find my designs, along with the designs of other class participants, in the Photoshop Class Gallery. There are links in the comments where you can download them too, if you like. You will need to sign up or sign in to get there.

Here are my class contributions.

Sneak Peek from Chelle's Creations

This time Chelle's sneak peak is a little spooky. I can't wait to see the full reveal. I just love pumpkin guts, don't you?

Sneak Peek From Chelle's Creations

I saw this and I had to share. There are oats in this kit. I don't think I have ever seen oats in a kit before. This reminds me so much of my childhood. We had horses when I was a kid and we used to get a wagon load of oats from the grain elevator and I would have to get up in the grain bin as a kid and keep the grain away from the top of the chute so that it wouldn't get plugged up. I loved climbing around in the grain as a kid. In hindsight, it probably wasn't a good idea. I would come out of there with oat dust in my eyes and lungs. But it  always was so much fun. I can't wait for the reveal of the kit.

The Color of Poo

Ben's favorite color is blue. So, for Zach's birthday, Ben wanted to buy Lofthouse cookies with blue frosting and cookies with yellow frosting, yellow being one of Zach's favorite colors and the other being green.

Anyway, a couple of days ago, I noticed and mentioned to Ben that his poo was bright green. I thought for a moment then told him it was from the blue frosting. No big deal. But yesterday, Ben brought a blue cookie to Zach and told him it would turn his poo green. Steve asked Ben if he wanted a blue cookie too. Ben replied, "No, green isn't one of my favorite colors".

Fish Fry

Zach had a day off from school on Friday. At about 4:30, Zach came up the stairs as I was just starting to get the pots around for dinner. He said, "Mom, I don't like home days all day. I want to go somewhere. I want to go to McDonalds". I replied, "Well, your dad and I talked about going to the fish fry". He said, "I want to go there! I want to try that"! Zach's enthusiasm for the fish fry was so contagious, even Ben became excited. And when we finally pulled into the parking lot at the restaurant, Ben asked, "Is this the fish RIDE"?

Another Tooth

Zach lost the other top tooth on Saturday. He was at Granny and Papa's and while playing outside in the snow with Granny he ran, face first, into the back of her and knocked it out. The tooth was lost in the snow for a day. The Tooth Fairy didn't seem to care though. She still left him some money under his pillow.

Mint Green

We were already running late for school when Zorro decided to visit wearing a knitted mint green sweater (and a yellow pee stain). This was just too cute not to post.

Wall Hugging Hot Wheels

I wish I had a movie of the difficulty Steve had putting this thing up. The wall template may have been helpful but it was far from perfect. We had to make use of some extra adhesive Command strips that I had for hanging pictures in order to get it to fit right.

It is now on the short wall of our upstairs hallway. Zach got this for Christmas from my brother's family and both boys love it.

The Christmas Surprise!

Zach was worrying for a few days that he might lose his tooth when it fell out. He was afraid it would fall out while he was sleeping and he might swallow it. But, as it would happen, he bumped it with his knee while at Granny and Papa's on Christmas night. He is shirtless in the picture because he and Ben were playing strong men.

Thomas!

Ben got an XL Thomas puzzle from Grandma for Christmas. He has always been my puzzle boy. So, he and Daddy sat down to put it together the other night.
Zach wanted his picture taken with Thomas too. So, they are laying on my kitchen floor with Thomas. Ben has put the puzzle together three times now and he's getting quite good at doing it.
